What is AI?
Have you ever talked to Siri, Alexa, or Google Assistant? That's Artificial Intelligence — AI for short!
AI means "computers that learn"
Regular computers follow exact instructions. If you say "make me a sandwich," a normal computer won't know what to do!
AI is different. AI computers can learn from examples — just like you learn by doing things over and over.
Where is AI hiding?
AI is all around you right now:
- Your phone — voice assistants, face recognition to unlock it
- Music apps — suggesting songs you might like
- Video games — making enemies move and react
- Cars — helping with parking and directions
How does AI learn?
Imagine teaching a friend to recognize cats. You'd show them lots of cat pictures:
"This is a cat. This is a cat. This is NOT a cat — that's a dog!"
AI learns the same way! We show it thousands of examples, and it figures out the patterns.
Musubi's Question
Think about this: What AI do you use every day without even noticing?
Talk about it with a grown-up or write your answer in a journal!
